The classic 'diner' has a very important place in US culture. Lets just remember some of the classic movie scenes that are set in a diner. Where does Clark Kent (a.k.a. Superman) head after getting his powers back and dispatching the evil General Zod and his superhenchmen? To the diner! The Double R diner is where FBI Agent Dale Cooper in David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks' gets his first taste of that famous cherry pie and that 'damn fine coffee!'. And, of course, weaving together disparate tales from the LA underworld in the cult classic 'Pulp Fiction', director Quentin Tarantino uses the Hawthorne Grill as a central hub, where characters come to relax and refuel, tackle the big religious questions and commit armed robberies.

Unfortunately for the diner culture, there is a trend going around Moscow nowadays in the restaurant world: each new cafe, restaurant and bar tries to outdo one another with a fancy new concept, extravagant interior or a fusion of every cuisine in the world. Finding a nice, homey place that values good old traditions, however, is a more difficult task.

Apart from burgers Long Island Diner has numerous other diner classic such as Ceaser Salad, baked potatoes, hot dogs, steaks, pork ribs, nachos, pasta, onion rings, mozzarella sticks and all that yummy jazz.  The extensive milkshake menu is another source of pride because 15 different kinds, well, that's impressive...and just outright heavenly! If you're feeling like spicing up your evening with a bit of an alcohol infusion then the cocktail menu - probably one of the largest and most varied in town - will certainly be to your liking. 

Apart from the mouthwatering goodies on the menu and the funky 50-60s 'small town America' atmosphere, there are a couple of other really fun reasons to make Long Island Diner and Bar your new hang out spot for any occasion. There is always something on, like the 'Back to the 50s' party, for example, where you can learn the art of groovy rock 'n' roll dance moves, put on your coolest vintage stuff and have a blast to 50s classics. Every Saturday and Sunday there is a special entertainment program for young aspiring super heroes between noon and 5pm including coloring, games and face painting.

Long Island Diner is also a great place if you appreciate a good price to quality ratio: between noon and 4pm on weekdays you can get the 'Lunchburger Set' which includes a burger, fries, coleslaw and a soda all for 220r.! Oh and how can we forget the classic American breakfast deals starting at only 98r.?
