Long Island Diner
The classic 'diner' has a very important place in US culture. Lets just remember some of the classic movie scenes that are set in a diner. Where does Clark Kent (a.k.a. Superman) head after getting his powers back and dispatching the evil General Zod and his superhenchmen? To the diner! The Double R diner is where FBI Agent Dale Cooper in David Lynch's 'Twin Peaks' gets his first taste of that famous cherry pie and that 'damn fine coffee!'. And, of course, weaving together disparate tales from the LA underworld in the cult classic 'Pulp Fiction', director Quentin Tarantino uses the Hawthorne Grill as a central hub, where characters come to relax and refuel, tackle the big religious questions and commit armed robberies.
Unfortunately for the diner culture, there is a trend going around Moscow nowadays in the restaurant world: each new cafe, restaurant and bar tries to outdo one another with a fancy new concept, extravagant interior or a fusion of every cuisine in the world. Finding a nice, homey place that values good old traditions, however, is a more difficult task.
Long Island Diner and Bar is definitely this kind of traditional place that's here to serve you delicious dishes tested by time in a cozy and unpretentious atmosphere. This is the kind of place you always see in some of the most remarkable - as far as fleshing out character history goes - and classic movie scenes.
Here you've got your jukebox, vinyl diner seats and, of course, some of the most delicious burgers you'll every sink your teeth into...over 17 different kinds, in fact! You can choose between more traditional options like the Retroburger or the Legendary Bacon Cheeseburger, or try something really different like the Macho Nacho Burger (comes with guacamole, marinated cactus and jalapeno peppers) or the Chicken Curry Burger. Every Saturday and Sunday there is a special entertainment program for young aspiring super heroes between noon and 5pm including coloring, games and face painting.
