The Golden Ring Run

The Golden Ring Run is a unique project which will take place in the historical cities of the Golden Ring in Russia. The project first started in 2014 in Yaroslavl with the First Yaroslavl Half-Marathon. In 2015 it became regional and was announced the best running project of the year in Russia.
This year the Golden Ring Run will extend its boundaries with an expected number of 20,000 runners from 20 countries and 60 Russian regions involved. Eight cities of the Golden Ring are going to welcome the participants. The half-marathons will be held in Tutayev, Uglich, Myshkin, Kostroma, Rybinsk, Rostov and Yaroslavl and, for the first time within the project, the full marathon will take place in Pereslavl-Zalessky around the legendary Pleshcheyevo lake. All the stages of the project are organized at a very high level in conformity with international standards. The routes will pass via the historical places which are a part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Golden Ring Run starts on May 1 in Tutayev and finishes on September 24 in Rostov. The Run is open for everyone - professionals and amateurs, and even for kids from the age of 4 as every route is divided into different distances. So, runners may choose the distance they prefer. The Golden Ring Run events will become bright sport festivities with rich cultural programs, master-classes for all age categories and lots of awards and prizes.
