The Russian Academy of Sciences

Moscow

Things To Do Observation platforms

The observation platform of the Russian Academy of Sciences is less popular than the one on Sparrow Hills, but not less impressive. The Russian Academy of Sciences is a civil, self-governed, non-commercial organization chartered by the Government of Russia. The Academy currently includes around 500 institutions and 55 thousand scientific researchers. The Academy was founded in Saint Petersburg by Peter the Great in 1724. In 1936 the Academy of Sciences moved to Moscow.
The International Business Center 'Moscow City' is straight ahead. You will see the Academy itself, Andreevsky Monastery, the Moscow River and Frunze quay, Gagarin's monument, Neskuchny Garden from a 60-meter height platform. It's a great spot for taking urban pictures. You can even enter the 'Golden Brains' - at the top of the building, where another platform is situated, or visit the restaurant Sky Lounge at 22nd storey (100 meters of height) to admire the wonderful view, sipping a brand cocktail.
