Losinyi Ostrov Park is located in the north of Moscow, between Zchelkovskoye and Yaroslavskoye motorways. It covers 22 km from the west to the east and 10 km from the north to the south. There is much vegetation, a big collection of plants and it's one of the most beautiful national parks in Moscow.
There are lots of streams, ponds, meadows, fields and also elks. The word 'Losinyi' which makes the part of the park name means 'elk's'. Two rivers Yausa and Pechorka start begin here. There is trekking on offer here, as well as other activities. There are lots of interesting guided tours available in English too.
So there is a guided tour about flora and fauna of the area, you'll learn why elks are there, which animals are their neighbours, how Russian typical trees grow and what the rarest types are.
