Kuzminki
Moscow
Kuzminki Park first appeared as a park in the XVIIIth century. Now it's easy to find it near station Kuzminki. Today, it still has some historical buildings like the church, Skotnuy dvor (Cattle yard), Pomeranzevaya green house, Hospital, Lion's jetty, Horses' yard, Bath house and many other interesting spots. The park is divided into the French designed part and the English one. The park is a very lively place where there are lots of public events to go to. For example, Moscow ex-mayor arranged a bee-garden and it immediately turned into an attraction. There are guided tours to see how honey is made, honey fairs and a honey shop.
There is an active eco-club which initiates different sorts of eco-friendly events: garbage collecting, seed planting, cycling manifesting tours and many others. There is also a museum of retro autos and Soviet monuments interesting to have a look at.
As to major events it's wonderful to visit the park in all seasons. In the summer there is an open air flower festival, jazz concerts, some local celebrations of the district. In the winter architects build an ice town with Russian cartoon characters. The town has an ice cafe where you may try herbal tea, a cinema theatre with all day running cartoons, master classes for everyone who likes animation and other amenities for adults and their kids.
