The International Festival SnowGRAD started in January 2010, when Kirill Bair decided to build a multifunctional complex only of snow. Beside hotel rooms, the complex included bar, cinema hall, sport complex, church and even Civil Registry Office. The snow complex entered the Guinness Book of Records as the first snow hotel.
The Festival SnowGRAD is a unique platform, which unites professional sculptors, artists and architects in Russia and in Finland. The main purpose of the festival is to strengthen international contacts and popularize the art of snow and ice sculptures in the world. 1500 artists, sculptors and architects from all over Russia took part in the festival during three years.
In 2012 winter, Moscow saw MOROZ CITY project, built in Sokolniki Park. It was completed with exhibitions, concerts, master-classes, competitions and other public art-contents.
In 2013, Kuzminki Park was a place for another unique project - Snow Kingdom MultiGRAD, devoted to the 100th anniversary of Russian animation.
