Bulgakov museum
Moscow
Bulgakov museum is a real spot for fans of the great author's book 'Master and Margaret' which has gained so much international popularity due to a wonderful gallery of memorable characters satirically localized in Soviet twenties: cat Begemot, Voland (Devil), Ghella, Korovin, Azazello, Margaret, Master, all of them and others make the magic atmosphere of the museum which is an 'odd flat 50' taken from the book where Voland (Devil) was staying with his court. The museum is in apartment number 50 in house 10 on Bolshaya Sadovaya Street, near Mayakovskaya station.
There are theatrical interactive tours with mini peformances and also English speaking guided walking tours which follow the writer's addresses, locations from his novels and generally take from 2 to 3 hours including a visit to the museum, of course.
The museum is not only devoted to Bulgakov's writing and biography, it is also a culture centre with the comfortable concert hall where poetry evenings and other creative perfomances take place, it has architectural and historic club New Moscow, invites professional philologists who give lectures on Russian literature and displays modern artists' works at the exhibition hall.
Well, if you're looking for something really new, interesting, entertaining and typically Russian and want to take part in a literary game on a light mysterious note, that's the right place to go.
Open every day except Monday.
