Bitzevsky Park
Moscow
Bitzevsky Park is an example of superb parks which is located in the south of Moscow, near station Novoyasenevskaya. Actually it looks like a forest with paths, playgrounds, cross-country ski ways and picnic areas which perfectly suits outdoors family weekend activities.
There is a church, mansion Uskoye with ponds and nice areas for strolling. Moreover, there is a hill for winter sports and a ski school for kids. In winter lots of locals come there to go skiing not professionally but for pleasure. It's well equipped but not made for big number of visitors.
Besides, cross country skiing is a popular activity for many Russians in the park, while in the summer it gives way to cycling and roller blading. There are some stadiums where everyone can come to play football or support their friends and family members during the game.
Vegetation is various: conifers, birches and oaks, all of these types of plants grow in one place but are mainly divided into separate zones due to rules of their 'compatibility' with each other by nature. So, it seems a little bit wild, not architecturally and landscape-design or civilized.
There is no entrance fee, no special events, no opening times, just the place where you can have calm and tranquil time with your family and friends. Mind that there is no parking lot but since it's not the city centre, there are some vacant places to park the car just along the main road.
