Description
We invite you to Kuskovo estate, a perfect example of the 18th century Muscovite country residence. Walk through the picturesque park with formal French gardens, ponds and sculptures, as our guide tells you about the life of Russian nobility and shows you the luxurious interior of the Palace and Grotto. For many years, Kuskovo served as the summer residence of the Sheremetevs family, one of the wealthiest and most powerful in Russia. The estate comprises the central palace and a number of smaller buildings and architectural constructions dotted throughout an extensive landscape park, which includes formal French gardens, ponds, lakes, as well as Russian and Italian sculptures. The central place in the Kuskovo estate belongs to the palace, which almost resembles a wedding-cake. The interior decorations of the palace include a mirrored dining hall, tapestries, marble urns, frescos, oak panels, crystal chandeliers, golden ornamentations and other exquisite decorations made of precious metals and semi-precious stones to emphasize the Sheremetevs fame, wealth and power. Behind the palace in Kuskovo there is a charming geometrically laid out French garden with yellow, white and green grottos. The estate also features Italian cottage, which comprises a miniature palace, the Green Theater, the Orangery and the magnificent Ceramics Museum.Includes
