After a short introduction to the busiest metro in Europe, you will see the first line of the Moscow Metro that was open in 1935. Moving on a train from station to station, you will get off at the award-winning platforms of the 1930s. Apart from seeing the most beautiful stations and taking photos, learn the history of Russia’s first metro system, the ideology behind the design and the modern tendencies in the development of the metro. The architectural styles will vary from art deco to neoclassicism as you switch the lines. You will also see the largest and most opulent stations of the Circle Line, decorated with mosaics, statues and stained glass. Hear about the metro during the years of the Second World War, when it was used as a bomb shelter by thousands of Muscovites. The tour will finish at Ploschad Revolutsii Station, just across the street from where the tour started.
