Douglas Kirkland is a prominent photographer based in the USA. At age 24, Kirkland was hired as a staff photographer for Look magazine and became famous for his 1961 photos of Marilyn Monroe taken for Look's 25th anniversary issue. He later joined the staff of Life magazine. The Lumiere Center for Photography is hosting an exhibition titled “Douglas Kirkland: Behind the Scenes” to show Russian photography fans the full spectrum of his work over the past 60 years, including the famous photograph of Marilyn Monroe. A special part of this exhibition will be a photo chronicle showing 3 weeks in the life of Coco Chanel.
